07.10Olympic Women’s Basketball Team Roster Finalized
The final 3 players for the women’s USA basketball team have been announced; Tamika Catchings from Indiana, Kara Lawson from Sacramento, and DeLisha Milton-Jones from Los Angeles.
Catchings would have been added to the first 9 players if she had recovered sooner from an Achilles’ tendon injury from last September. Catchings returned to the court for Indiana on June 15 and has averaged 10 points this season.
In the front court for USA we have: Lisa Leslie, Tina Thompson, Candace Parker, Sylvia Fowles and DeLisha Milton-Jones.
For the back court: Sue Bird, Katie Smith, Diana Taurasi, Seimone Augustus, Cappie Pondexter, Tamika Catchings, and Kara Lawson.
The Olympic Women’s Basketball Team will meet at the end of July when the WNBA takes a brake for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
