Announced Tuesday, Anna DeForge was traded to the Minnesota Lynx.

“I am excited to be joining the Minnesota Lynx organization, and I hope to have the opportunity to finish my career here, just a few hours away from my hometown,” DeForge said. “I am looking forward to working with Coach Zierden, as well as another opportunity to work with Coach Julie Plank again here with the Lynx after two seasons of learning from her in Indiana. I cannot wait to get on the court with our young talent as we strive to return the Lynx to the playoffs for the first time since 2004. The goal for me every season is to win a WNBA Championship, and I am coming to the Lynx to help bring the trophy home to Minnesota.”

DeForge is a veteran to the league with 2008 being her seventh season. She was drafted in by the Detroit Shock in 2000. Then played 3 seasons with the Phoenix Mercury and the last 2 seasons with the Indiana Fever. Over her WNBA career she has averaged 10.8 points per game and 2.2 asists.

With such scoring ability and experience, DeForge is going to be a key player for the Lynx.
